*This review breaks a couple of my usual rules. I've never reviewed an entire series before—or a book that's more than three years old. But after reading the latest installment, I immediately went back and devoured the entire series. Once I finished, I knew I had to include every single book, too.

Plot: Huda is an Arab American teenager living in Dearborn, Michigan, a city with a large Muslim population. It’s not always easy being a Muslim girl in America, and Huda navigates those challenges with humor and honesty. Throughout the series, Huda shares what life is like at her high school, what it’s like growing up in a large family with four sisters, vacationing to Disney World, navigating her parents’ divorce within her religious and cultural community, and dating and falling in love. She is charming, hilarious, and incredibly relatable, capturing the ups and downs of being a teenager with humor and heart. Below I've listed the main plot points for each of the stories in the series.


Huda F Are You? Huda’s parents move their family to Dearborn in the hopes that their daughters will find a sense of belonging within a large Muslim community. But for Huda, that’s harder than it sounds. At her old school, she stood out as the Hijabi girl. But now, she’s just like everyone else. Huda struggles to figure out who she really is. When her religion isn’t what defines her, what makes her special?


Huda F Wants to Know? Huda’s parents announce that they’re taking the whole family on a road trip to the happiest place on Earth: Disney World! At first, Huda and her sisters are ecstatic, but when they discover that the trip comes with lots of rules and mandatory sister bonding, they become a little less excited. Huda is definitely not thrilled about eating packed lunches or praying in the middle of the park, either. Will the trip actually feel like a vacation, or will it feel more like work? Work to fit in with her family—and with everyone else at the park?


Huda F Cares? Huda and her sisters are shocked when their parents announce their divorce—but Huda feels like her sisters are taking it better than she is. Her whole life seems to begin to crumble. Her schoolwork falls through the cracks, her dreams of attending her dream university begin to slip away, and her ideas about true love are put to the test. What will her parents’ divorce mean for her within her religious culture? What will people think? What does God think? And how will her family ever feel the same again?


Huda F Would Love You? Huda has just graduated from high school, and she’s ready for love! She’s got a master plan to find a man, complete with brand-new besties and aunties ready to set her up with the most eligible suitors. She’s determined to find her match. But dating isn’t exactly what she expected—and apparently comes with plenty of gender roles and expectations. Will Huda be able to navigate all of her new relationships the way she always dreamed she could? Does finding true love mean changing herself? And can happily ever after really exist?
